Acqua Restaurant Bridal Shower by Kelly Williams Photographer
I love the organic feel of this bridal shower in the middle of a concrete jungle. A “kitchen garden” as photographer, Kelly Williams, beautifully describes the setting. From the perfectly personal place cards to the colander centerpieces, this is a warm and inviting prelude to the wedding day.
From the photographer: I love getting to photograph my brides before the big day. It gives me a chance to see them away from all of the stress that a wedding day can bring. I was thrilled to have had the chance to photograph Francesca’s bridal shower at Acqua Restaurant. Francesca will be getting married in June, so this was a lovely introduction to her family and friends who will be supporting her on her wedding day.
The restaurant was filled with warmth, despite the cold and dreary weather outside. Acqua Restaurant, located in the downtown South Seaport area, has a great rustic feel to it. The party took over the entire restaurant, and there were many compliments on the food. (Including from me — the pesto gnocchi was great!) There were a few party games, but mainly it was a laid-back affair and guests got to visit with each other. A few details I have to mention: the table centerpieces were beautiful, and beautifully practical. The ‘pot’ for the centerpiece was a colander, and inside were several potted herbs along with a pack of radish seeds. An instant kitchen garden! There were also daffodils on the table that begged for spring to appear. The table place card for each guest was a handwritten piece of muslin wrapped around a little bottle of olive oil, doing double duty as a take home favor.I am so looking forward to photographing Francesca and Rory’s wedding. Let the countdown begin!
Francesca and Rory met at work where she was an intern and Rory was assigned as her ‘buddy’ to show her around the place. What started with a lesson on where to find the cafeteria blossomed into a romance after five years of being friends.
The proposal itself took place in Hawaii on the big island. Rory and Francesca were visiting Hawaii for a friend’s wedding and extended the trip for a few days of R&R. Once the couple landed on the big island, they went for a hike and it is was there that Rory proposed!
