Country Club Wedding

How did you meet and how did he propose? Derk and I met on a Friday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway. We had mutual friends and we were all there. Derk came over to me, introduced himself, started talking and the next thing we knew we had talked by the fire until the morning hours. We love to travel, so we took a long weekend trip to the beach – where he proposed. What made this moment so special for us was that we thought we were alone. After he proposed, this elderly couple walked up to and congratulated us.

Why did you choose your location? We chose Fox Hall Sporting Resort because we wanted something close to our home and the location was perfect for us.

Which elements of your day best reflected you as a couple? Derk and I are very laid back. We wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and have that beautiful day that everyone dreams of having. I feel like having our ceremony outside on the highest point of the property surrounded by all of our family and friends, a beautiful building for our reception, and holding each other made our day! It was important for Derk and I to enjoy our time and thank each of our guests personally for sharing the day with us. We ate our dinner and then mingled our way through the room to make sure we saw everyone.
