Springtime Engagement Session in Central Park

There is something so magical about springtime in Central Park. It’s the perfect place for an adorable couple like Kat & Nick to have engagement photos captured. From Bow Bridge to the cherry blossoms to Bethesda Fountain, this shoot leaves me daydreaming of warmer days that are soon to come. Thank you Imagery by Marianne for sharing this sweet engagement session with us!The Westchester Wedding Planner, Central Park Engagement Session_6531We’re both from the same town on Long Island, but didn’t meet for a long time because we went to separate schools. Our houses growing up were literally a mile down the road from each other.

We met when we were sixteen at our friends birthday party, but we didn’t start dating until a year later. Unfortunately, we went to colleges that were 200 miles apart. After four years of cars, buses and trains to visit each other every weekend, we were finally able to stop being a long distance relationship and move in together.

Kat: He proposed in September. I was so sure it was going to be November 1st on our five year anniversary. We went for a walk by the water after dinner at our favorite restaurant in the West Village. I thought we were just talking when he suddenly went down on one knee, I was so surprised. The only hint now that I look back on the day was that he was suggesting we take more pictures than he would ever usually agree to be in.

Nick: I had planned dinner that evening and I left the plans for the day open, but we had found an abandoned tourist guidebook in the park and decided to go to the Empire State Building. I had to switch the ring from my pocket to my bag and back without her noticing so that I could get through the metal detector. Also, the guy who sold us the ticket said “I don’t see a ring on that finger, are you going to propose up there?” I shrugged off the joke, but from then on I was flustered having been caught off guard like that.

We definitely want a wedding in June. We’re both pretty traditional, so we’re going to have the ceremony in a church and have the reception afterwards. We have two big families and we’re the first of our friends to get married, so we know it’ll be a lot fun!
