The Sweetest Day by Mark Dickinson Photography
I learn something new every day. Did you know that the third Saturday in October is known as the Sweetest Day? Whether it’s a “concocted promotion” by the candy industry or not, it was the sweetest and most perfect day for Kelsea and Andrew’s wedding. It just so happened that Kelsea chose her color palette because they inspired romance. Little did she know that it’s a candy like palette. Just perfect for this special day.
What did you love about your venue? The location and the beautiful resort. Many of the guests came in two days before the wedding, so everyone was able to get out and enjoy the beach and the hotel activities. Most of all everyone commented on how nice the staff was.
What was your Favorite Moment? Having everyone out on the dance floor and having a good time.
Biggest Challenge? And how did you overcome it? Trying to decide on who to invite without going over our numbers. We solved it by moving the reception from the tent to the ballroom.
Words of Wisdom for future brides? Don’t take everything so seriously. Don’t worry about if it is perfect. Although everyone said, it is the brides day remember your parents and your future husband’s parents have been dreaming of this day too.
What inspired your colors and theme? I chose my colors because they reminded me of romance and the theme the “Sweetest Day” because after we had chosen October 18, 2014 a friend informed us that day was listed as the Sweetest Day.
Did you DIY? For table numbers, I used photos of Aj and me when we were the age of the table assignment so people could see what we looked like as children that age. In every room, we placed a welcome basket with snacks and a door hanger that said “SHH We were out late last night celebrating with the newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Booth”. My godmother made the baskets, and my friend who designed all of the stationary made the door hangers.
